ESP32-WROVER Combo WiFi Bluetooth BLE Module, U.FL (IPEX) Connector
The ESP-WROVER-32-EXT module supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (BT), and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connections making it suitable for a variety of wireless applications. Designed around the ESP32-D0WDQ6 chip it features an external U.FL (IPEX) connector and 4 MB Pseudo Static RAM (PSRAM).
The WROVER-32 runs on freeRTOS operating system with LwIP and a built-in TLS 1.2 with hardware acceleration. With the secure encrypted over-the-air (OTA) updates, firmware can be easily updated remotely without manual or physical intervention. The module supports open-source system allowing the device to be completely customized. Example code and information can be found at GitHub.
The device has two (2) individually controlled CPU cores with a clock frequency that is adjustable from 80 MHz to 240 MHz. The ESP32 also has a sleep mode processor that allows for sleep current of less than 5 µA, making it suitable for battery powered applications. The WROVER-32 module also offers an easy process to gather sensor data or communicate with another microcontroller using a variety of peripherals, such as:
- Capacitive touch sensors
- UART
- Hall sensors
- I²S
- I²C
- High-speed SPI
- SD card interface
- Ethernet
Common applications include:
- Internet of Things (IoT) solutions
- Home automation
